About Renard's Menagerie

What is Renard's Menagerie?

Renard's Menagerie is brand new fiction magazine, focusing on anthropomorphic stories. In this case anthropomorphic means more then just furry stories. We accept all type of anthropomorphic stories and characters. From werewolves to talking cat mysteries, they all come under the umbrella of anthropomorphic.

Who’s in charge?

The head editor of Renard's Menagerie is Fox Cutter; he is a published writer and has been in the furry fandom for many years. Doug Linger, who is also a long time member of the fandom, is providing additional help with the publication and direction of Renard's Menagerie.

Does Renard's Menagerie publish art?

Renard's Menagerie is primarily a literary magazine; thusly we do not focus on art. That being said we do publish art in the magazine. We use both incidental artwork for the stories, which is usually black and while, and a full color cover for issue. If you are interested in submitting artwork for consideration for future commissions, please see our Artist's Guidelines.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for good fiction, nothing more and nothing less. Each issue will have a theme dictated by the stories we receive for that issue. We are currently preferring stories with the themes listed below, but we will consider all stories submitted for a given issue.

Why Another Magazine?

It’s true that there are many existing publications covering anthropomorphic fiction in one form or another, and Renard's Menagerie will stand among them. Renard's Menagerie will also attempt to expand past the familiar boards and reached more into the main stream of modern fiction.

Renard's Menagerie is also aimed at a semi-pro market, and to that end we pay are contributors: a penny word for stories, and a negotiated fee for artists.
